This win was a testament to their resilience, as they dominated after a shaky start. The Jamaican team found themselves trailing 11-15 after the first quarter, but they rallied in the second, leveling the score at 20-20 and then pulling ahead to a 28-25 lead by halftime.

The momentum continued in the second half, with Jamaica securing a 3-goal advantage heading into the final quarter.

They maintained their composure to seal the 61-53 victory, clinching the series a 2-1. This win came just a day after a nail-biting 50-49 triumph over England, meaning the four-game series ended with two wins, one loss, and one draw for the Sunshine Girls.

The event was graced by the presence of Prime Minister Andrew Holness and Sports Minister Olivia “Babsy” Grange, marking a historic and well-attended night.

England, ranked second in the world, had entered the series on a high, following their victory in the Taini Jamison Trophy in New Zealand in October. On the other hand, Jamaica, ranked fourth globally, had not played since November 2023, when they finished fifth in the Fast5 World Series.

Jamaica’s Rhea Dixon walked away with player of the match.
