Jamal Confronted by Seani B about ‘Dunce’ Message in his Music

Mobay Dancehall artiste Jamal who sees himself as the ‘new Marcus Garvey’ sat down with Seani B on Bruckout TV to talk about his journey in music and what the ‘Dunce’ movement is all about.

As per Jamal, the main thing about his ‘Dunce’ slang is believing in oneself despite not being the brightest or most technically gifted.

At one point, Seani B confronted Jamal about the message in his songs to which he responded stating that children will decide on what path they want regardless of the message in his music.

The Dancehall artiste also made note that he has a teen daughter who he ‘grow for 10 years’, playing his fatherly role and now she’s turning out to be a good young woman regardless of the music her father makes.

As it relates to his stand-out performance at Freedom Street, Jamal details that it “was one of the biggest moments” for him and Vybz Kartel has been his deejay from day one.

Jamal explains that the word ‘believe’ is very important to him, so much so that he uses it ‘often’ in his music. he used examples such as someone getting out of bed to go work despite being tired, “a belief ago get yo deh’ he outlines.

He also expressed that the same ‘belief’ keeps him optimistic after disappointments.
