Popular Hip-hop executive Irv Gotti whose birth name is Irving Domingo Lorenzo Jr. passed away on Wednesday, February 5 after reportedly being hospitalised. Irv Gotti who was also known as DJ Irv died at age 54.
Irv Gotti is best known for working with artistes such as Ja Rule, Ashanti, DMX, and Jay-Z. He helped to produce multi-platinum hits like Ja Rule’s ‘Always On Time’ plus Ashanti’s “Foolish,” amongst other top songs from the era.
On Wednesday, news initially started circulating that he was hospitalised after suffering from a stroke, Wednesday night rollingstone.com and several other sources reported the passing of Lorenzo Jr.
In the summer of 2024, news broke that the hitmaker also suffered a stroke and was hospitalised. The reason for the death of the co-founder of Murder Inc. Records is yet to be announced in detail. However, based on his health history, many persons are theorising that diabetes was the root cause of his death.
Notably, Gotti has admitted in the past to eating and living an unhealthy lifestyle at the heights of his career.
