Even though the Government at the time tried to contain the situation, the virus started to spread throughout the country and in no time a popular call centre in the country was inoculated with over 250 cases of Covid-19.
After that, big breakouts of the virus continued to take place due to funerals and parties being kept which the Ministry of Health eventually forced the Government to restrict.
Notably the virus spread widely during Jamaica’s general election, September in 2020, it went down for some months but the daily positive rate is up again and don’t look like going down soon.
