Alkaline leads with 7 YVA nominations… Learn why Vybz Kartel got 0 nods

[Sharingbuttons]Alkaline did make a noticeable impact in 2017, so much that he will be the top show-man at this years annual Your View Awards, formerly aka Youth View Awards. Alkaline got nominated for the following categories:
Favourite Local Artiste (Male), Favourite Caribbean Artiste, Favourite Dancehall Artiste, Hot Summer Song and
Favourite Local Chart-Topping Song.

Last year, Alkaline secured 10 nods in nine categories but failed to win any, while Kartel was last year’s biggest winner with five awards

On the other hand Vybz Kartel did not get any nomination(s) this years at YVAs 2018 because he was deemed UN-eligeable due to the fact that new protocol in getting nominated includes that the artiste must be able to perform live at the awards show.

Spice secured six nods, while Popcaan and Aidonia are tied with five each.

CEO Karen Clarke, YVAs’ had the following to say
“I was moved because in the 11 years that we’ve been doing this, no one has ever said that to us in that capacity. Someone actually stopped and looked at what we’ve done. Trust me, it hasn’t been easy, but God knows the plans He has and so everything is in divine order,” Clarke told the Jamaica Observer at the launch.
