Asafa and Wife Alyshia Powell Share a Message on International Women’s Day from Ghana

On the day which is celebrated as International Women’s Day, the sub-ten king, along with his multi-talented wife, Alyshia Miller Powell took to Instagram to share a message acknowledging International Women’s Day. The couple is currently on vacation in Accra, Ghana.

He posted a picture of himself and his wife dressed in full African clothing with the caption, “Celebrating national women’s day, wishing all women strength and happiness.” Asafa joins thousands of athletes and celebrities who have shown their support for the day’s significance.

Asafa’s wife, Alyshia Miller Powell, is a Ghanaian model who wears many hats in addition and has been hailed by many of her fans who subscribe to the couple’s YouTube channel as a woman of strength and influence. So, it is only natural that Asfa would celebrate and acknowledge this day appropriately.

International Women’s Day is a global holiday celebrated annually on March 8 as a significant milestone in the movement for women’s rights, bringing attention to issues such as gender inequality and reproductive rights, as well as violence and abuse against women and girls. Throughout the world, International Women’s Day is regarded as a significant occasion.

It was in 1975 that the United Nations recognized the day for the first time. A number of countries, such as Cambodia, Guinea-Bissau and Ukraine, now celebrate International Women’s Day as a national holiday.

As the theme of this year’s International Women’s Day is #EmbraceEquity, the objective is to work towards equitable solutions which take into account the diversity of lived experiences of individuals and communities, adapting services and policies to reflect these differences.
