Asafa To Pay over 30k in Monthly Child Support

Asafa Powell, legendary Jamaican sprinter, was taken to court to increase his monthly child support payments, as reported last year. The report released in mid 2020 had stated that Asafa who was paying $25,000 monthly was requested to pay $40,000 per month, an additional $15,000.
 
At that time, Asafa revealed that he wanted a paternity test for the child he shares with his former girlfriend Amita Persaud-Webb. Amita likened the problem she was having with Asafa to the Corona Virus.
 
The media had not been able to get news about the matter. The proceedings have been finalized for months now, and was revealed to the media recently.
 
As reported by Loop News, Powell was ordered by the Family Court to pay $30,000 per month. He was also told to pay half the child’s medical expenses and half her educational expenses going forward, until the child turns 18 years old.
 
According to the source who revealed the info, the court order was made back in November 2020.
