At Private Auction-Kanye West’s Air Yeezy Sneakers Fetched a Record 1.8 Million

Sneakers investment platform RARES bought the size 12 footwear that Kanye wore at his iconic Grammys performance in 2008 from Sotheby’s.

These sneakers were on sale for almost three times more than the one that belonged to the basketball legend Michael Jordan, which was a signed Nike Air Jordan 1 sneakers. It went for $560,000 at the online auction held by Sotheby’s last year.

At the Innovation Kitchen in Oregon the black leather Beers, shoes with the faded Swoosh, were designed by Nike’s Tiffany Beers, Mark Smith and Kanye.

Kanye, who is now 43 and facing a divorce from his wife Kim Kardashian West, had created this exclusive footwear brand with Adidas in 2015 and in that year he also unveiled ‘Yeezy Season’, his first apparel collection.
