Over the course of the year, gunmen have targeted the security company Beryllium Limited which was rebranded in 2021 from its previous name of Guardsman Armoured Limited. However, in the series of standoffs between the Beryllium teams and gunmen, Beryllium finally strikes back causing fatal damage.
According to reports a gunman was left dead after he was shot by a member of the Beryllium team on Monday during an attempted robbery in Grey Ground, Manchester.
It is believed that the attack occurred at around 7 PM.
There have been several attacks on Beryllium teams, many caught on camera when they pull up to different financial institutions to transport their cash securely.
Millions have been stolen previously during other attacks that took place in several parishes across the island often leaving Beryllium security guards injured.
A representative from Beryllium spoke on the most recent attack, stating that, the company is working closely with the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) in order to investigate the incident. Anyone with knowledge that could assist with the incident is being asked to come forward and contact the police.
“Thank the brave men and women of our company for their unrelenting courage as they face unprecedented risk in their daily duties,” was also stated in the statement.
