Attorney Murdered – Husband in Police Custody

A 34-year-old attorney Nordraka Williams- Burnett was stabbed several times before she died in her home at West Kirkland Heights, Red Hills and several members of the legal fraternity were left in shock. Her husband Lieutenant Kyodia Burnett who is a serving member of the Jamaica Defence Force was seen in the room where her body was found and it is alleged that he had killed her.

The couple’s two children, who were in the home when the murder took place, have been taken in by relatives. The neighbors who were very surprised to see police and other members of the security force in the normally peaceful area, told persons that the couple were Christians and they were quiet individuals.

However, early in the morning at about 5 am that day the residents who lived close by, heard strange sounds and called the police who went to the couple’s home and did investigations before they removed the body and took Lieutenant Burnett into custody.

Mrs. Williams- Burnett was a star performer at the Law firm Townsend, Whyte and Porter, said her colleague Christopher Townsend who was very sad and shocked when he heard about the murder.
It is clear that this young attorney will be severely missed, and it is possible that her husband was mentally disturbed.
