Vybz Kartel isn’t the only artiste getting back in the game after not performing for multiple years. After a four-year hiatus, Austrian Dancehall artiste S Pri is ready to dive back into the industry and released his new song, Back At It, on Friday.

Dancehall’s infectiousness globally is undeniable, but many do not take kindly to foreign artistes dabbling in the Jamaican genre. Though the mere idea of him joining the Dancehall arena may ignite controversy and offend some people, S Pri is ready to make a name for himself in the industry.

Back At It marks S Pri’s musical reunion with producer Alystr Nash, whom the United Kingdom-based artiste partnered with to work on his EP in 2019. Re-entering the scene with the philosophy, “Who waah vex, gwaan vex,” S Pri boldly announces his return in their new single.

Shunning his critics in the song’s lyrics, the deejay proclaims that the love he has for what he’s doing will keep him going and there’s no stopping him.

“Back at it. Back at it. Wah do some man? Yo we caah stop at it. Money a di pree. We nah stop stack a brick. Gal dem nah hitch. Gimme de backaz quick. Back at it. Back at it.  Wah do some man? Yo we caah stop at it,” S Pri deejays in the song’s chorus.

Back At It‘s music video reinforces S Pri’s declaration of his comeback, with the video set solely in the studio. The video showcases the artiste hard at work alongside some video vixens.

For S Pri and Alystr Nash, Back At It not only signifies their return to the industry but also a return to Dancehall’s hardcore roots.
