Reports indicate that Suckoo was with her boyfriend, a policeman assigned to the Specialised Operations Branch, at a location in May Pen.

The couple was reportedly getting dressed when the officer placed his service pistol on the bed beside her.

Moments later, an explosion was heard, and it was discovered that the weapon had discharged, striking Suckoo.

Emergency responders were called, but she succumbed to her injuries. The May Pen Criminal Investigation Branch, the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s internal investigative arm, and the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) have launched probes into the incident.
