Veteran deejay Beenie Man received a loving birthday message from his eldest child, Desha Ravers, and a birthday serenade from his youngest, Xiah Davis, as the King Of Dancehall celebrates his 50th birthday.
Born Moses Davis in the community of Waterhouse in Kingston, Beenie Man began his career at an early age and would go on to be one of the genre’s most recognisable figures with a catalogue that has spanned decades. The artiste has marked many milestones during his illustrious career, and on Tuesday, he marked quite a significant one as he turned half a century.
Noting that he was “Grateful for another year around the sun,” Beenie shared a video collage on Instagram of his daughter Xiah, with whom he shares with ex-girlfriend Krystal Tomlinson. The video began with Xiah playing the guitar as she sang happy birthday to her father, with the birthday serenade serving as the soundtrack for the photo and video clips of the pair throughout her childhood.
Beenie went on to reshare a birthday message that was posted by his daughter Desha, who praised her father as she expressed how lucky she felt to be his daughter.
“Happy birthday mi boss di best daddy in the world…knw my style nah do the long speech ting but I appreciate you and I knw Im super blessed to call you dad Never ever change my G I love you,” Desha wrote in all caps.
The message captioned a video of Desha and her father.
The Who Am I deejay also received a birthday message from Member of Parliament Lisa Hanna, who shared a video of the pair while wishing him all the best.
Sharing a photograph of himself, Beenie Man once again expressed how happy he was to have lived to see another year. The artiste went on to thank his fans, family, and friends for the many birthday wishes of support he had received.
