Marvel Studio released the highly anticipated teaser trailer of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever that pulled in 172 million views within 24 hours of its debut.
The two-minute-long teaser is the first reveal of the sequel to the 2018 Ryan Coogler-directed film Black Panther film starring Chadwick Boseman. Chadwick Boseman battled colon cancer for 4 years before passing in August 2020.
The emotional teaser relived the loss of Boseman, whose photo is featured in the clip, opening with a rendition of Bob Marley’s hit No Woman No Cry, which is sung by Nigerian star Tems. The slow heartfelt singing of Tems is transitioned to Kendrick Lamar’s Be Alright as the plot of the sequel is unveiled showing the nation of Wakanda going to war against an army of Atlanteans.
Bob Marley’s 1974 No Woman No Cry is one of his biggest hit songs that has been sampled and covered scores of times.
Lupita Nyong’o, Letitia Wright, Danai Gurira, Florence Kasumba Winston Duke and Angela Bassett are reprising their roles from the original Black Panther.
Following the teaser that was launched last Saturday, fans are thrown back into eagerly anticipating the movie’s release.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is slated to be in theatres on November 11.
