Briana Williams Shares Lengthy Message About Patience After Successful Jamaica National Trials

Jamaican female sprinter Briana Williams shares her triumphant story following her success at the Jamaican national trials, which took place in Kingston last week, after finishing 4th in the women’s 100m to book her spot on the plane to Hungary for this year’s staging of the World Championship.

Briana Williams gave an insight on her journey via social media by saying, “The unexpected happened to me the week before trials where I had gotten injured. It was a case where you would say to yourself “why me? why NOW? After everything was just coming together.”

She continues, “As the days went by, I kept thinking will I be able to perform the way I want to at trials? But i’m a firm believer in everything happens for a reason! While doing everything I could to be able to run without any pain even though I was hardly able to run at the time.”

“I gained more confidence to just fight my way through the days leading up & even though I would’ve wanted a better performance & outcome despite going through so much this year I can gracefully say that I gave my everything in the final & I still made another World Championship team placing 4th & finished all my races healthy with a season’s best While I was counted out & doubted on whole season I still was able to defy the odds again,” Briana Williams revealed.
