MVP’s Stephen Francis Says No To Elaine Thompson-Herah’s Return

Top local coach Steven Francis has ruled out the possibility of reuniting with 5 times Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah, to the MVP track club. Since leaving the club in October 2021, her career has declined due to several factors, including injury.

Elaine stated back then that personal growth and the need to take charge of her destiny were the reasons for her decision.

In addition, she explained that what she wanted to improve herself was not provided at the club, which meant she had to find it elsewhere. She expressed gratitude for the assistance she received in her early years.

Herah has not been able to replicate her performance at the Tokyo 2021 Olympics, where she won the sprint double in record-breaking fashion and solidified her place as one of the greatest sprinters in history.

The public has suggested that a reunion between Elaine and the track club might be the catalyst to change the fortune of the sprinter, who was unable to make the National Track Team after finishing 5th at the Jamaica trials.

Notably, Thompson-Herah has never publicly expressed a desire to return to the club.

In a recent interview with Sportsmax, renowned track and field coach Stephen Francis was asked about the possible return of Herah to the club. He left no room for ambiguity in his response when he stated no.

He added that this was because of how she departed and what she said during her departure. “The fact that she has yet to accredit any member of the MVP staff who paid her a lot of attention and made a lot of sacrifices to get her healthy enough to run and do what she did in 2021,” Francis continued.

He further expressed his disappointment that Thompson-Herah attributed her success solely to her husband and other factors while failing to acknowledge the MVP Staff’s efforts.

He exclaimed that it didn’t sit well with him, and he would’ve been satisfied even if she had said, “Thanks to MVP.” He outlined that he would take back any of his former athletes but not Elaine Thompson-Herah.

Francis’s stance has shattered the public’s hope of the parties reuniting. They believed this reunion could ignite the spark that propelled the sprinter to Olympic glory.

Thompson-Herah now faces the daunting task of getting back to the top. However, she has to do so without the MVP track team in her corner.
