Chief of the Accompong Maroons community Richard Currie who is known to be a good friend of Buju Banton has made multiple statements following the donation, in one of the statements he stated, “Let us all SHARE this post and SHOW @bujubanton some love today as he has done a massive charitable gesture that will help our Maroon government and our communities. Let us take a moment and give him his flowers for his selfless character of being a servant of the people.”

It continued, “His duty to the almighty has allowed him to attain abundance in life and also share the said abundance with others so they too can have dignity and pride. You have helped to speak life to those searching for the light and revive those who souls have been in a spiritual slumber.”

And, “Up you mighty race of people! We are more unified than we have ever been and we the Maroons continue to get stronger each day. Massive infrastructure work will begin in the coming weeks and we will once again raise the economic and social mobility of our people.”

Another statement from Currie stated, “Honor to the extremely talented Accompong Maroon Minister Tamica Taylor @diamonddsigns876 for having our Maroon Cultural Group looking their best for the @bujubanton Washington DC concert. She handcrafted each piece of the Maroon clothing ensuring the authenticity of our culture was on display. Gratitude for all your hard work and dedication to the Maroon Movement.”

His statement continues, “Check out and support @diamonddsigns876 for all your authentic handcrafted Maroon pieces and custom clothing along with accessories. Salute my warrior sister ✊🏾 Big Respect to the St Thomas Maroon Native @grampsmorgan for always showing love for the movement. Kindah! Nyankipong Pickibu.”
