Trap Dancehall star Skillibeng has joined forces with American rap giant Busta Rhymes in a song entitled Bulletproof Skin, housed on the rapper’s new The Fuse Is Lit EP. Releasing the EP today, Busta Rhymes also dropped a music video for his grimy track Bulletproof Skin, in which Skillibeng incorporated his popular dancehall trap style.
Bulletproof Skin, produced by Rvssian and Kosa, begins with the Touch It hitmaker standing in a corridor and rapping about the impact he and Skillibeng will leave on their opps. Following the intro, Vybz Kartel’s voice is heard saying, “Hey, Rvssian,” before Skillibeng starts the chorus. “New thing, new whip wid di bulletproof skin, new thing, choppa wid di hundred round clip. New shit, corvette wid di butterfly wings,” Skillibeng sings while speeding through a lit city in a black corvette at night. Shots are being fired at him, but they bounce off the vehicle.
The video transitions to the Break Ya Neck rapper seated on a throne of dark roses with women on either side. While Rapping about taking out his enemies, he says, “Nuff a dem fraud and try copy weh we live out, Skillibeng, dem vanish wen di choppa dem ring out.”
Skillibeng is later seen exiting his ride, and another shot shows him in the corridor singing in the second verse while females are shown in separate frames dancing. The Whap Whap hitmaker and the rapper are videoed side by side for the third verse, and they tackled it together. Homage was also paid to Vybz Kartel, whose photo flashed on the screen when Busta Rhymes said, “And if yuh have a problem, unnuh fi go s*ck yuh madda and a Kartel and Killi ova Skillibeng.”
