Cardi B Reacts to Riots Over George Floyd Death: “The People Are Left With No Choice”

Cardi B too has joined the artistes in raising their voices against the brutal death of a black man, George Floyd, which involved four officers in America.

Footage of the fatal incident went viral on Monday, May 25, in which George Floyd was being suffocated by a Minnesota officer. Due to the incident, half of America is in chaos, asking justice for George Floyd.

The protests have expanded across the country to New York, Columbus, Louisville, Memphis, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Portland and several other cities.

In response to the riots and violence taking place in the country, Cardi replied by saying that the citizens are very well educated, they chose the violence over peaceful protests because they are tired of it. Cardi tweeted on Thursday, “They looting in Minnesota and as much as I don’t like this type of violence it is what it is.”

She also tweeted, “Too much peaceful marches, too much trending hashtags and NO SOLUTIONS! The people are left with NO CHOICE”

The American rapper also posted a two minute video on May 29, sharing her views about police brutality and the protests.

“Seeing people looting and going extremely outraged, it makes me feel like, ‘Yes! Finally! Finally motherf—ers is gonna hear us now. Yeah!’ And as much as people is so against it, at this point I feel like I’m not against it,” tweeted Cardi. Although, she admitted that the fires set by protesters and police during the protests do frighten her and that she doesn’t want anyone to be harmed.

She also offered a solid solution to the people for taking power i.e. vote. She said, “And when I say voting I’m not only talking about the president, we could vote for mayors, we could vote for judges and we could also vote for D.A.’s (district attorneys).”
