Just one day after Casandra “Cassie” Ventura filed a lawsuit accusing Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs of rape, sex trafficking, and abuse against the Bad Boy rapper, the two ended up reaching a speedy settlement.
A report released on Friday indicated that the two parties released statements announcing that they had settled all of the claims in the lawsuit, to their collective satisfaction. Furthermore, both parties agreed that no additional details about the terms of the agreement would be released to the public in the future.
However, many online fans were not pleased with the settlement.
The Is It You singer expressed her contentment with the decision by stating, “I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control.” She continued by thanking her family, fans, and lawyers for their tireless support.
As part of his statement, Combs stated that the matter was resolved amicably between the two parties. Diddy continued his statement saying, “I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love.”
A federal lawsuit filed in New York City on Thursday accused Combs of raping Ventura and abusing her physically during the course of their relationship, including punching, beating, kicking, and stomping on her as well.
As part of the suit, the singer also alleged that for nearly a decade after meeting the rapper at only 19 years old, Diddy plied her with drugs, routinely beat her, and forced her to have sex with a succession of male prostitutes during filmed “freak-offs.” In addition, the singer also claimed Diddy raped her at home in 2018 when the rapper forced his way into her house.
