“Crocodile Teeth” Makes Billboard Hot 100

Dancehall star Skillibeng, notched his first entry on the Billboard Hot 100, with his Crocodile Teeth (Remix) featuring rapper Nicki Minaj, after it entered in the very last position on the songs chart at No. 100. Skillibeng also debuted at No. 35 on Billboard’s Emerging Artistes. Each week the chart seeks to highlight the top-performing rising acts in the USA.

The remix entered the Digital Song Sales chart at No. 43 and the Billboard Global 200 chart at No. 182 also.

The updated Crocodile Teeth track had a fresh first verse added by Minaj and it was one of three new songs included on her Beam Me Up Scotty Mixtape which was re-released. Minaj’s collaboration Seeing Green with Young Money affiliates Lil Wayne and Drake , debuted at No. 1 on this week’s Digital Song Sales chart and on the Hot 100 song chart it was at No. 12.

The third new song off the mixtape, Fractions  debuted at No. 7 on the Digital Song Sales chart and on the Hot 100 at No. 52 .

The Crocodile Teeth (remix) drew over 2.5 million views on YouTube and 2.4 million plays on Spotify following its release on May 14. The original song, rocked up over 20 million views on the official YouTube music video after it was released in October 2020, .

In a recent interview  Johnny Wonder, one of the track’s producers mentioned that Nicki Minaj’s team reached out, and wanted to be a part of the remix. The producer revealed that the collaboration proves that there are young Dancehall acts who now have what it takes to attract the attention of international stars.

Nicki Minaj was not the only international rapper who expressed an interest in the crossover hit, done by Skillibeng.  Crocodile Teeth sparked a number of remixes and rappers such as Tory Lanez and UK-based Youngs Teflon tapped the Crocodile Teeth riddim and did unofficial remixes.

Skillibeng recently collaborated with International rappers Rich the Kid and Jay Critch on Real Boss‘ official video,  released last month now it stands at 1.4 million views on YouTube.

After the St. Thomas native’s 2019 breakout song Brik Pan Brik was released he followed up with solo hits like Coke, HOT, Mr. Universe.
