Dancehall Celebrates Popcaan’s Birthday

Today is a special day for Dancehall music as it celebrates the birthday of one of its musical icons; Andre Sutherland, otherwise known as “Popcaan”. On this day, the St. Thomas native turns 33, and fans of his are already pouring out their best wishes for him in any way possible.

Since recently “Poppy” has been absent from his Instagram account, with his last post made on April 19. One thing for sure is that today the deejay must have gotten tons of happy birthday DMs. Otherwise from being able to send Popcaan a message on Instagram, the fans were able to express their love to the “Family” singer via an Instagram post made by the “Grung Gad”, Bounty Killer.

The post consisted of a photo showing “Killa” and “Popskull” together doing a hand sign pose, along with a caption stating “El Papi bless up pon di earth strong youth stronger fi longer more blessing prosperity health and wealth Nuh Chubble Nuh Deh Deh”.

In the comments section, people were pouring out their hearts by wishing the deejay the best. UK Grime artiste, Giggs appeared amongst those who commented, dropping two crowns to show his respect to the cultural icon.

Ching also got in on the birthday wishes with a post of his own as seen below.

Even though he has been absent from Instagram, Popcaan has continued to drop songs, and even did so today with a new track called “Pool Party”. It would be very interesting if the deejay surprises us by making a post today.
