2023 has been a promising year for social media influencer Dancing Rebel, who has achieved several significant accomplishments in her career as a dancer. This year, the longstanding career of the viral sensation saw new milestones that included touring, booking events, partnering with companies like Lynk and Digicel, and taking the internet by storm with her infectious personality and impressive dance choreographies.
Rebel currently has two viral dance choreographies making waves on the internet: the Rum Behavior dance move to dancehall deejay Kraff’s popular Rum Behavior single and her newest Chakka dance for Jquan’s Chakka single.
The dancer spoke on some of her accomplishments during an interview with OnstageTV, first highlighting her joining Romeich Entertainment in 2022. This was the stepping stone for some of the opportunities that came in Rebel’s direction, such as being booked to perform at more events.
Additionally, the dancer, who is legally named Christina Nelson, went on a European tour, marking the first of many to come as Rebel disclosed that 2024 will see her touring Canada, Europe, Asia, and more.
When expressing how she feels about her success, Rebel told Windford Williams during the Onstage interview, “Mi neva expect fi be like dis popular, but swear to God, God is good.” She also expressed surprise at the overwhelming support she has received from the public in contrast to the criticism she had previously faced.
Rebel asserts that her improved character is the reason for the shift in the public’s perception of her. Thus, she hopes to give back to her fans in the near future to show her appreciation. As it relates to the future, the dancing rebel hopes to buy a house, which would add to her list of tangible achievements following behind the car she purchased in November.
Continuing, she said, “I’m making a living out of my passion, and I love the fact that when I dance, I can express myself.” Offering some words of encouragement to other aspiring dancers, Rebel urged youths to keep in mind that “it takes time and patience,” consistency and God.
“You have to listen, watch weh relevant and just live yuh truth,” she advised.
