Following the unexpected announcement that her ex-husband Beenie Man will once again be tying the knot, dancehall artiste D’Angel reacted to the news during an interview.
D’Angel and Beenie exchanged vows in an extravagant all-white wedding in 2006 at the Craighton Estate in Irish Town. However, the artistes separated a few years later and finalised their divorce in 2019.
Following his split from D’Angel, Beenie declared that he would never remarry and thus left many stunned after announcing his engagement to Camille Lee last week. During an interview on Onstage, D’Angel reacted to her ex-husband’s upcoming marriage to Lee.
The No Worries singer appeared utterly unbothered while discussing the news but seemingly suggested that she was not aware of the engagement, which was announced on Instagram. D’Angel said she does not pay attention to social media and is not aware of what happens there.
She disclosed that after performing at Sting in December, she travelled overseas with her and Beenie’s son, Marco Dean, to celebrate New Year’s. According to the artiste, she has been busy ever since and is oblivious to what is happening on social media.
Shifting the discussion from her ex, D’Angel discussed Marco Dean’s fitness journey and venture into the world of boxing. In addition to being trained by former Wray and Nephew Contender Champion Kemahl ‘Hitman’ Russell, D’Angel said that Marco Dean is also being trained by past Commonwealth Boxing Council Zonal Middleweight Champion Sakima Mullings.
D’Angel also shared her fears for Marco Dean’s safety as he enters boxing and disclosed that Beenie did not approve of him joining the sport. But the artiste expressed that the 17-year-old is very passionate about boxing and never misses training.
