Jamaica News, An emergency meeting has been called for this Wednesday by the minister of local and community development Desmond Mckenzie.

Desmond Mckenzie

The meeting is set to entail a talk on breaches of the Covid-19 policies set by the government to ensure the proper measures are taken where events are concerned.

It is reported that 700 events were kept without permission and those that got permission went as far as to break the law.

The government previously noted that any event that is being kept must have a maximum of 250 patrons and 30 workers.

Commenting further on the situation the minister has stated that the situation is becoming very overbearing for the police as they have to be monitoring all the events.

With the increase in Covid-19 cases since Monday the Governor has made a statement declaring that there is a good chance the relaxed privileges will be removed.

This he says will happen if the rules and regulations of the Pandemic are not followed. He mentioned that the Government is trying their best but their efforts have been proven to be futile.
