The woman accusing Jay Z and Diddy of rape has publicly addressed her allegations, admitting to “mistakes” in her story—prompting Jay Z to request the court to dismiss the case.
The accuser, identified as Jane Doe, spoke to NBC News on Friday, detailing the alleged events from the 2000 MTV VMAs after-party. She claimed she was 13 years old at the time, recounting a limo ride to Diddy’s house, consuming a drink that left her feeling disoriented, and the subsequent alleged assault.
However, her narrative includes discrepancies that have raised questions.
The now 38 year old mother who says she suffers from autism initially said she spoke with musician Benji Madden at the after-party, but Madden denies being in New York City at the time. Additionally, the accuser stated her father picked her up from the event, but he reportedly has no recollection of this happening.
Further complicating the timeline, photos from the night show Diddy and Jay Z at Lotus nightclub, casting doubt on the claim that the alleged assault occurred at Diddy’s residence. Despite these inconsistencies, the woman insists the incident happened, stating the flaws do not discredit the core allegations.
Jay Z’s attorney, Alex Spiro, views the situation differently, filing documents to inform the judge of the developments. Spiro called the accusations a “sham,” criticizing the inconsistencies and noting the absence of corroborating witnesses.
He also accused the accuser’s attorney, Tony Buzbee, of failing to properly investigate the claims before filing.
Diddy’s legal team echoed similar sentiments, dismissing the allegations as part of a larger “money grab.” They highlighted the exposure of multiple false claims, calling this development another step toward discrediting the case.
Jay-Z’s team plans to file a motion to dismiss the lawsuit immediately, while the accuser remains firm in her allegations despite mounting scrutiny.
