Despite offering a $50 million bid for bail, US District Judge Arun Subramanian sided with prosecutors, who argued that Combs had a history of violent behavior and posed a significant risk of witness tampering if released.

Judge Subramanian emphasized that the government had presented clear and convincing evidence that no conditions could reasonably ensure the safety of the community, citing Combs’ violent past and the potential for further criminal actions.

He was arrested in September and has been in jail for the past 10 weeks. Combs had pleaded not guilty to all charges, asserting that his sexual relationships were consensual and denying the allegations of abuse and coercion.

The 55-year-old is accused of being involved in a racketeering conspiracy, coercing women into sex trafficking, and using a network of associates to silence victims through threats of violence, including kidnapping and arson.

Combs’ trial is set to begin on May 5, 2025, but in the meantime, he faces multiple civil cases, with more than 100 accusers allegedly represented by law firms pursuing legal action.
