It has now been over a week since former 876 Roommates host and Social Media Influencer Donna-Lee Donaldson has gone missing. The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has assured the public that they are doing their utmost best to ensure her safe return to her family and are not currently treating her disappearance as a homicide case.
Friends and family of Donaldson have, however, taken things into their own hands by hosting a peaceful protest that took place on Sunday, July 17, 2022, outside Maitland’s New Kingston apartment. The investigation is still ongoing and the boyfriend of Donaldson, Noel Maitland along with a female colleague by the last name of Smith, seems to be the last persons to have laid eyes on her.
According to Nationwide News, popular Music Producer and Police Constable, Maitland, who is at the center of the investigation, is still allowed on active duty. He is stationed at the Constant Spring Police Department. Senior Superintendent Aaron Fletcher and Commanding Officer of Maitland has attested to this fact.
Nationwide News reports that protestors have congregated outside the Constant Spring Police Station, insisting that he be removed from duty.
It has been reported that a review session of the case commenced this morning and that Constable Maitland is cooperating with the investigation into Donaldson’s disappearance. Maitland has already given his statement to the police but the female Constable, Smith (mother of Maitland’s child and supposed lover) has refused to do the same, so the Introduction of the INDECOM Act is under discussion. It is unclear if she as well remains on active duty, as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Marlon Nesbeth, Smith’s superior officer, has not commented on the matter.
Reportedly, several Police High Command Officers were involved in the meeting, but although Maitland was the last person to see the former host before she went missing, he has not been named as a person of interest or a suspect in the investigation.
