The Weeknd has been snubbed for the Grammy awards nominations, and fellow Canadian rapper Drake is almost amused about the whole thing and even expressed his opinion on the matter on Wednesday night.

Drizzy highlighted that there is a disconnect between the awards, and impactful music so when an artiste such as The Weeknd, does not get a nomination it shouldn’t come as a shocker.

He also mentioned that what was once recognized as a high standard awards ceremony, might not be important to future artistes.

The OVO Sounds Ceo, also stated that instead of fixing up, they do not change their ways.

According to TMZ, The Weeknd also said that the Grammy awards are corrupt.

Some have been speculating that the reason for The Weeknd being counted out of nominations regardless of “Blinding lights” that hit Billboard number 1 spot, was because of an interesting ultimatum he was handed, to either perform at the Grammys or Super Bowl.

The “After hours” artiste, seems to have suffered the obvious consequences after choosing the Superbowl competition and said it was “Spite” that caused the Grammys, to make their decision.
