EARTHQUAKE Rocks Haiti, Jamaica and Other Caribbean Islands

At approximately 7:29 this morning, Saturday, August 14th an earthquake rocked sections of the Caribbean. The sudden quake struck 6km from L’Asile, Haiti. According to a U.S. Geological Survey, the earthquake had a magnitude of 7.2 and several countries including Jamaica, The Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Puerto Rico, Turks and Caicos Islands, United States Minor Outlying Islands, and Cuba felt the shocks.
In Jamaica, the quake was felt across the island with reports so far from Kingston and St Andrew, St Catherine, St James, St Elizabeth, St Ann, Westmoreland, Trelawny, Manchester and Clarendon.
Jamaica’s Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management confirmed the tremor since it’s impact on the island however details are sketchy at the moment.
Most of the damage was done in Haiti.
