Elaine Thompson-Herah wins her first race of 2022 at the 20th staging of the Queen’s/Grace Jackson Development meet at the Stadium East field on Saturday, January 29, 2022.
Thompson-Herah soared to victory by winning the 60m with a personal best of 7.19 seconds ahead of Remona Burchell who placed second (7.29s) and Shashalee Forbes (7.36s) who placed third. Both contenders are from the Sprintec Track Club.
“New season, kicking it off with the 60m, it feels great,” said Thompson-Herah. “I am happy to be here”.
Thompson-Herah is a five-time Olympic champion and holds the title of the Jamaican record holder and second fastest woman of all time over the 100m and 200m.
