It’s no secret that Young Thug’s lyrics will be used as evidence against him in court. In a video released by Law&Crime Network, the judge who is presiding over the case can be seen reciting a portion of Young Thug’s lyrics to “Slime Shit” in court, and some of the lyrics were not even from Thug himself, but from his collaborators, Lil Duke and Yak Gotti.

Among the song lyrics spoken by the judge were:
“Hey, this that slime shit, hey
YSL shit, hey
Killin’ 12 shit, hey
Fuck a jail shit, hey.
Cookin’ white brick, hey”

The jury selection for Young Thug’s trial began this week. Judge Ural Glanville presented a macro view of the prosecution’s case for jurors on Wednesday, January 4, including excerpts from the 2016 Thugger song “Slime Shit” including the lyrics “F–k The Judge.” It was an ironic moment for many.

In the U.S., rap lyrics are commonly used as evidence in criminal proceedings. But it is a controversial practice that has gained national attention in this case due to Young Thug and Gunna’s celebrity status.
