Fire Destroys Business and House on Christmas Day

A road crash that occurred in Mandeville along the Content road, close to Williamsfield, Manchester on Christmas day has left a family in tears. The persons who were operating, a restaurant and bar that was attached to their home faced a terrible tragedy at approximately 2 pm, when a motor vehicle allegedly lost control, and hit a column at the gate to the premises and then burst into flames.

The fire quickly spread to the property and the residents had to flee, in order to escape the fire.

It is alleged that the vehicle that was burning ended up there after there was an accident up the road, which involved two vehicles.

Firefighter and family members managed to put out the flames and after that the residents were still shaken. They cried when they realized that the bar and restaurant and the adjoining house was totally destroyed.

After the flames were extinguished the residents were still shaken up, when they thought about their near death experience. They cried when they realized that the bar and restaurant was totally destroyed.

Omar Atkinson, who had just left to visit his farm, now feels very fortunate that he was not there when the fire was blazing. He was seen cleaning up the place with the assistance of some other men.

The whereabouts of the driver of the burnt motor vehicle was said to be, persons from Portmore, St Catherine who were heading to Spaulding.

It has been reported that the section of the road where the accident occurred is dangerous, many accidents have happened there before.
