Fraser-Pryce Planning Her Retirement from Athletics

Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce the Jamaican sprint queen who is now training for the Tokyo Olympics, said after the defense of her Women’s 100m sprint gold title at the 2021 World Championships Eugene Oregon, she could be saying her farewell from track and field.

Last year in Doha, Quatar at the World Championships the 33 year old led other runners to an unprecedented fourth Women’s 100m gold on her return to world class competition after giving birth to her son Zyon.

Shelly-Ann who has won two Olympics and nine World Championship gold medals over the last 12 years, made the declaration ahead of the Laureus World Sports Awards in Berlin on Monday.

Fraser Pryce is bidding to complete the hat-trick in Tokyo, having won Olympic gold in the Women’s 100m final at the 2008 Beijing and 2012 in the London Games, but she had to settle for bronze in the event at Rio de Janeiro in 2016.
