Ginjah’s ‘Tun Up’ Generating a Buzz in the Streets
Press Release – Reggae singer Ginjah‘s latest hit song ‘Tun Up’ has been generating a buzz in the streets. At the recent staging of Boom Sundays, selector Boom Boom gave the song his endorsement much to the delight of patrons who responded positively.
Boom Boom said, “The song have a mad vibe and the people dem respond in a positive manner. Is a song weh a talk bout the love and appreciation a man have fi him empress, so you caan go round a song like dat.”
DJ Kryptonite who plays at several parties and events in St. Catherine said that since he started to play ‘Tun Up’ in his sets, he has seen a positive reaction from the crowd. “Tun Up a tun up di place. Di man dem love di tune for obvious reasons and the women as well.”
“Da song ya gone man!” said DJ Kryptonite.
On the other hand, DJ Fire Bigz from the Kingston 8 area says the crowd reaction to the song has been organic. “The first time mi play the song, it buss di dance. Is a good storyline so the response ago be organic,” he said.
Old Harbour based DJ G Scoop has also gave Tun Up, the thumbs up. “Family, da song deh gone. Ginjah find another hit,” said DJ G Scoop.
Tun Up continues to make moves on the South Florida and New York Reggae charts. It is also climbing the popular Stampede Street Charts.
Last week, Tun Up moved up from number 28 to 25 on the New York Reggae chart, while on the South Florida Reggae chart, the song is number 12.
