Inmate Disarms Officer and Shoots 2 Persons at Police Station in Montego Bay

It has been reported that an inmate at the Freeport Police Station in Montego Bay, St. James, was shooting at police officers around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The report detailed that the inmate stole the gun from a policeman and barricaded himself inside a building on the compound.

Afterwards, he proceeded to shoot at the police officers, according to the Jamaica Gleaner.

So far, two other inmates were found with gunshot wounds.

The Gleaner has received reports a prisoner at the Freeport Police Station in Montego Bay, St James, has disarmed a policeman and is firing shots at police after barricading himself inside a building on the compound. Soldiers and fire personnel are now at the Freeport Police Station in Montego Bay, St James, where a prisoner is still barricaded inside a cell block after reportedly disarming a policeman and shooting two prisoners. #GLNRToday
