Investigation Launched Following Skeng’s “Baderation” Concert In Guyana After Multiple Gunshots Were Fired

The National Security Advisor of Guyana, Gerry Gouveia declared in a statement that an investigation has been launched following Dancehall artiste Skeng’s “Baderation” concert that occurred on Friday, May 27.

He disclosed that while the entertainer was performing ‘Protocol’, a hit collaboration that featured the incarcerated deejay Tommy Lee Sparta, multiple gunshots were fired throughout the venue in the National Park in Georgetown. This resulted in the performance ending prematurely and also a mini stampede from party patrons who attempted to seek cover from the gunfire.

“Anything that breaks the law and disturbs peace in Guyana and affects investors confidence is a national security matter, and this certainly concerns me. The people who organized the show will have some serious questions to answer,” Gouveia said.

Furthermore, Gouveia asserted that it is a matter of national security and the event organizers will be held liable for the unfortunate outcome, as he believes that they were “reckless” and “irresponsible” by not ensuring that proper screening was done to prevent illegal firearms from entering the venue.
