Barbadian music icon and business mogul Rihanna paid homage to dancehall by featuring the 2013 soundtrack of the late Jamaican dancehall entertainer, J Capri, Pull Up To Mi Bumper which featured Konshens, in her Savage X Fenty Volume 4 show.
The show began streaming exclusively on Amazon Prime Video on Wednesday, November 9, and debuted the latest Savage X Fenty styles, whilst incorporating stellar music and dance. In recognition of Rihanna’s Caribbean roots and culture, dancers dressed in purple did a 45-second choreography while the hit single blasts in the background.
Pull Up To Mi Bumper is a popular single that dominated the airwaves when it was released 9 years ago. It was produced by renowned producer Rvssian on the Head Concussion Records and has surpassed over 20M views on YouTube.
J Capri, whose full name is Jordan Phillips, died on December 4, 2015, at the hospital following a motor vehicle crash more than a week earlier. Reports state that she had been in an induced coma, and medical professionals believed that she was showing signs of improvement before her eventual death.
The then 23-year-old was also popularly known for the songs Wine and Kotch featuring Charlie Blacks and Mamacita done with Vybz Kartel.
The performers at Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty Volume 4 show included Anitta, Burna Boy, Don Toliver, and Maxwell, with special appearances by Ángela Aguilar, Avani Gregg, Bella Poarch, Cara Delevingne, and many more.
