JA NEWS: 143 Persons Now Tested Positive for COVID-19 in Jamaica, 62 Deportees to Arrive

These are the latest Jamaican News stories, Thursday April 16th. Minister of Health Dr. Christopher Tufton explained today that 18 new cases were added to the previous list.

52 of Jamaica’s 143 cases are linked to a call center, Business Process Outsourcing firm Alorica in the Portmore area. 787 individuals work at the location.

5 persons passed away from the deadly virus in Jamaica since the virus’s outbreak.

A total of 62 deportees will arrive in Jamaica on Tuesday April 21th. The Jamaican government is expected to negotiate a further delay as the deportees were to arrive from March.
