Reggae recording artist Jahazeil is using the power of his music to uplift, motivate, and entertain listeners of all ages, as he proudly celebrates the recent release of his single “Left to Right,” produced by Parradon/ Duss Records, with distribution by Johnny Wonder.
“Left to Right” was released December 20, 2021, and Jahazeil is prepared to spend 2022 building his listening audience, fine-tuning his brand, and sharing his music and message with the Jamaican and international fans of reggae music.
Jahazeil’s musical vision is consistent with his goals when he started to write and record—over a decade ago—at the age of 15. Now approaching 27, he wants to ensure his music is something that the entire family can enjoy, and he hopes to continue to write and perform a steady catalogue of songs that reflect good values and hopeful possibilities.
The spiritual video for “Left to Right” opens with narration stating that, “God will take pain, and make it power,” and that, “God will take problems, and build solutions.” The lyrics continue Jahazeil’s call for peace. While he seeks a retreat, his words also remind listeners that although the devil is alive…that he is protected by the Messiah. The music video, for “Left to Right,” now steadily gaining momentum on YouTube/VEVO, was produced by Street Cinema.
“Is there somewhere I can go? Is there a place I can go? So much is happening…” the artist sings, sentiments surely echoed universally as reggae music lovers and global citizens alike continue to deal with the ongoing effects of the pandemic. “Someone save me from all the negativity that’s been around me,” is a lyric currently interchangeable with life’s frustrations.
Just as no one is immune from the effects of this international health crisis, the song “Left to Right” is also a reminder that challenges reach everyone…regardless of location, socio-economic status, or freedoms.
“So much a gwan: left to right…” is the song’s chorus, echoing the idea that there is chaos everywhere, from left to right. East to West. Internally and externally. The journey of a musical artist is often rooted in their vision for the world—Jahazeil continues to hope for peace, in addition to holding firm to his faith in God.
“This year I will be releasing more songs,” said Jahazeil. “I want to continue to make quality music that represents the heart and soul of reggae, and also represents the solid values that we hold as Jamaican people.”
Jahazeil knows that the journey of an artist is one that takes perseverance, focus, and commitment…all of which he’s prepared to continue to build into his craft and his musical legacy, from left to right.
