Jamaica Finishes 2nd in Women’s 4x100m Final at World Athletics Championships – Watch Race
Jamaica claimed silver in the 4x100m final at the World Athletics Championships as the United States defended their 4×100 World Championships title on Saturday.
The Jamaican team, comprised of Elaine Thompson-Herah, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Briana Williams, and Shashalee Forbes, claimed their way to the finals with a time of 41.70 seconds, with their American challengers clocking in the fastest time of the heats with 41.59 seconds.
The final saw the Jamaican team, changed to Forbes, Fraser-Pryce, Natasha Morrison, and Shericka Jackson, start in lane 7. Morrison kicked off the first leg of the race, with Jackson closing.
Jackson, who ran the last leg of the race against America’s Sha’Carri Richardson, finished in second place in a time of 41,21 seconds, with America first in 41.03 seconds, and Great Britain third in 41.97 seconds.
