Jamaica Garrison Christmas Doing Well On Charts
Sean “Contractor” Edwards, has released the 18 track “Jamaican Garrison Christmas” and, already it is doing well in several countries internationally.
The compilation was released on December 18, and features artistes such as Aidonia, Chronic Law, Jahvillani, Version, Chaka Demus, Squash, Popcaan and even newcomers to the dancehall space such as Jay Sheperd and the Mobay based Perjah.
Dancehall artiste Xclusive also got featured on the album, which might surprise many as people thought he would have been a one-hit-wonder with his track released several years ago entitled “Scamma dem deya”, however, the deejay has not given up and the mighty Contractor saw it fit to feature him on the hot new compilation.
The immaculate album by “Contractor” also features international Ghanaian artiste, Shatta Wale who has stated to the Observer in an interview that it has been a joy for him to work on the “Jamaican Garrison Christmas” album, further stating that it is his second time featuring on an album out of the island.
In Ghana, the album has copped the number one spot for the best selling reggae album on iTunes and Amazon, as well as the number 23 position across all genres on the Apple streaming platform.
It is also doing well in the United States, where it is currently at the number 7 spot on iTunes.
This is not the first project Sean Edwards has produced as he did his first album similar to “Jamaican Garrison Christmas” in 2018, entitled “Tropical House Cruises to Jamaica” which went to number one on the reggae Billboard chart, later releasing the reloaded edition and then the reggae collector’s edition which is currently at number 6 on the Us reggae album chart, selling over 2900 copies.
