Following the drawing of the four groups for this summer’s CONCACAF Gold Cup football tournament, the match dates for the Jamaica Reggae Boyz’s forthcoming faceoff with the United States and Nicaragua have been announced.

On April 14, the SoFi Stadium hosted the tournament’s official draw, which decided preliminary matchups and group stage pairings. Jamaica was paired with the reigning champions, the United States, the Central American nation of Nicaragua, and a third opponent, which will be determined after the Gold Cup’s prelim Matchup 9 winner has been declared.

The 2023 Gold Cup will take place from June 24 – July 16, with Jamaica and the United States kicking off their Gold Cup campaigns on the opening day of the football tournament at the Soldier Field stadium in Chicago, Illinois, USA. The Reggae Boyz have made it to the Gold Cup finals twice, first in 2015, then in 2017. Their 2017 campaign for their first Gold Cup win was thwarted by the United States, who defeated the Boyz 2 – 1 in the finals.

The Reggae Boyz will face Nicaragua four days later for their second Group A match on June 28 at the CityPark stadium in St. Louis, Missouri. Speaking on the Boyz’ upcoming match with Nicaragua, head coach Heimir Hallgrímsson referred to the Central American team as tricky, citing the Boyz’ struggle to get results during their previous matches.
