Jamaica Reggae Boyz to Face Qatar and Jordan Ahead of CONCACAF Gold Cup

In preparation for their CONCACAF Gold Cup matches with the United States and Nicaragua, the Jamaica Reggae Boyz are scheduled to face Qatar and Jordan in upcoming friendlies.

The CONCACAF Gold Cup kicks off on June 24, with the Reggae Boyz scheduled for their first game against the defending champions, the United States. As they continue to prepare for their 2023 campaign in the tournament, the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) announced two upcoming friendlies for the national team on Friday.

Their first match, a rematch of sorts, will see them face 2022 World Cup hosts Qatar at the Wiener Neustadt Ergo Arena on June 15 in Austria. Their last meeting with Qatar in Austria ended in a draw in the Boyz’ final game of the Austrian mini-football tournament in 2022.

On the other hand, this will be the Boyz’ first time competing against the Western Asian nation of Jordan, whom they will play against five days ahead of the Gold Cup on June 19.

The Reggae Boyz were drawn with the US, Nicaragua, and a still-to-be-decided qualifier in April. Their second Group A match, with Nicaragua, is scheduled for June 28, and their third on July 2.
