Jamaican Applying for American Visa Dies at US Embassy

A Jamaican man passed away on the premises of the US Embassy in St. Andrew, Jamaica on Monday after suffering from a ‘medical episode’ per reports.

The incident took place at about 8:30 am.

A part of a statement from the embassy following the tragedy reads, “The US Embassy in Kingston is deeply saddened by the passing of a Jamaican national who experienced a medical emergency while visiting the Embassy this morning.”

It concluded, “The US Embassy Kingston extends sincere condolences to the deceased’s family and friends during this difficult time.”

It was also noted that staff at the embassy assisted, giving medical attention, however, they could not help.

He was later removed from the facility and taken to a funeral home.
