Jamaican DJ Akademiks Yells “I’m The Prize!” To Girlfriend During Argument – Watch Video

DJ Akademiks, a Jamaican-American entertainment media personality, is once again in the media for all the wrong reasons after a video surfaced showing him yelling and pushing a woman said to be his girlfriend while saying the words, “I’m the prize!”

In the video posted by The Shade Room (TSR), Akademiks is seen holding a duffle bag while walking back and forth and shouting at a woman in a black and white dress. Seemingly, this bag belongs to her as she along with another woman appearing to be associated with the group, tried, with many failed attempts, to retrieve it from his hold.

The heated argument then escalated and towards the end of the video, the purported girlfriend lifts her hand in an attempt to slap him in the face.

The caption of the post read, “#PressPlay: Looks like #DJAkademiks was involved in a heated altercation after apparently recording an episode of the Fresh and Fit podcast! Thoughts #Roomies? 👀 (SWIPE).”

However, the Jamaican YouTuber explained the incident by claiming that he was breaking up a fight between his drunk girlfriend and some women who tried to take pictures with him at a party.

“I was breaking up a fight. My girl was drunk and being aggressive wit other women cuz they were coming up to me in a party taking pics. One of the girls swung on her and that’s where this video starts I’m tryna get women to chill out. But they ain’t listening. They fighting over pics n sh*t,” he wrote in the comments section of the post shared by TSR.

While some people are on his side, not everyone agrees with his actions. Someone commented, “But he dodges MEN that actually want to pull up!💀💀,” while another individual stated, “Ak was trying to deescalate the situation stop dragging it smh.”
