Jamaican Woman Found With USD 40,000 Worth Of Cocaine in Shoes
A 21-year old Jamaican woman has been taken into Police custody by the United States Customs and Border Protection agency after she was caught smuggling a total of 3 pounds of cocaine with a street value of $40,000.
The drugs were found, when the young woman was given a search at the Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in Georgia, where she was found with seven pair of shoes that had a white powdery substance in each of them, which was later tested and found to be Cocaine.
According to the Port Director of CBP, Paula Rivera, interrupting Narcotic smuggling continues to be one of their priorities.
She further commented that the drug problem is something the CBP officers, has to take seriously since smugglers try different ways to escape the Police.
According to the director of the agency, up to 3,677 lbs of drugs are seized daily.
