Jamaica’s First Shipment of Medical Marijuana sent to Canada

[Sharingbuttons]The Honourable Audley Shaw, Minister of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture, and Fisheries recently announced Jamaica’s first legal export of medical marijuana extracted oil, it was sent to Canada. 

An export permit was issued by the Government of Jamaica after the Government of Canada through Health Canada for Jamaica an import permit was issued before the shipment was sent to Canada. This is the first step that will position Jamaica as the medical marijuana center of the world.

 Jamaican-based Licensed Producer Timeless Herbal Care continues to be a trailblazer in Jamaica and sending the first shipment of extracted oil to Canada has happened because of a process that was started 5 years ago. 

The Ceo of the pioneering company, Courtney Betty said, “his company was able to send the shipment because of the commitment of the small farmers on communities and the also partnered with their research at the  University of Technology. The extracted oil will be used to develop medical products to be distributed worldwide.

Jamaica is taking all the necessary steps to become an important player in the fast-growing medical marijuana business as the Cannabis Licensing Authority CLA identifies international export opportunities.
