Jamrock Reggae Cruise 2018 Highlights

For the 5th year the Jamrock Reggae Cruise was a huge success as the very huge ship “Independence of the Sea” Cruised the Caribbean and Thousands of Reggae music lovers from the UK and many other places around the world, enjoyed themselves as they danced to the Reggae music that was being played all day and night.

On day one, they enjoyed the “Sail Away Party” which started before the ship started its journey, the energy and the vibes was great because everyone was excited. There were some patrons who were so in love with the food, the music and the whole experience, that they are not willing to miss the cruise for a year. Junior Gong, Third World, Jah 9 kept the crowd rocking .

Many Jamaican stars performed at live stage shows throughout the 6 days and 5 nights. The Marley Brothers, Chronix, Konshens, Queen Ifrica, Jah9, Tarus Riley, Aidonia, Agent Sasco, Third World, Mr. Vegas, Mykal Rose and other Jamaican artistes had the large crow dancing at all times.

On day two it was time for Queen Ifrica, Agent Sasco and others who gave fantastic performances. The patrons liked meeting the artistes and took photos with them.

Jah9 spoke about her music and the audiences reaction. She also spoke about Yoga and how she teaches people the way to heal, in an interview. She said “the Yoga on Dub experience is offered even in the South of France at times.”
Day 3 was different as patrons had an opportunity to leave the ship to visit Ocho Rios and Jamaican artistes who had no visas such as Bounty Killa and Jah Cure were able to board the ship and perform as the ship goes from Ocho Rios to Falmouth.

Day 4 when the ship stopped in Falmouth for a while, Shenseea was the opening act and she spoke about her rise in the music business at the age of 22. Aidonia and, performed on that day too. The sound clash between Tony Matterhorn, Base Odyssey, and others went well.

Junior Marley said “the Marley Brothers will be recording music together as they continue presenting themselves to the world as a group.”

Day 4 and 5 was no less exciting as General Degree, Red Rat, Spragga Benz and other artistes who were for the throw back to the 90’s performances. Mr. Vegas had to replace Elephant Man who lost his mother and couldn’t make it.
Mykal Rose , Sly and Robbie closed the show on the final day . It was said that , you snooze, you lose on the 2018 Jamrock Cruise.
