JC Beats KC to Win Champions Cup – Watch Match
Kingston College (KC) suffered a 2-1 defeat to Jamaica College (JC) when they faced off in the finals of the ISSA/WATA Champions Cup knockout event at the National Stadium at 5:00 pm on December 10th where one of the biggest high school rivalries in the nation was determined.
JC, who was dethroned in the 2021 Manning Cup Champions by Kingston College, their long-time rivals, seemingly was more focused and intent to win last night’s match. Maquan Aldridge of JC scored the game’s first goal in the 43rd minute then teammate Tarick Ximines in the 50th minute.
Kingston College was unable to level the match despite scoring in the 78th minute.
Despite the concerns of the match going to a penalty shoot-out for the finals as encountered in JC’s previous match-up in the semi-finals against Mona High School, coach Davion Ferguson was confident in the team’s ability to out-score KC.
JC won their first Champions Cup crown since 2014 after a heartfelt match against their longest rivals in the Manning Cup.
